Good afternoon.
It is my honour to stand here,My name is Chenjuan.I'm studying English in Chenlin Foreign Languages College.

Does anybody still remember the July,13th,2001.It was a great historical day for China and for all the Chinese people.Well,I think we all had dreams of becoming something great,like a doctor,a teacher or a rock star,that's right,from that day on,I've got a dream,a dream of becoming a real volunteer of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,and now,it is just unbelievable for lucky me,a dream is no longer just a dream,I have been chosen to be the real volunteer and will serve the 29th Olympic Games.How incredible!!I just couldn't believe it when I got to know that wonderful news.I think the precious volunteer experience will be the most terrific memories in my whole life.

Well,up to the present,I've served two Good Luck Beijing Games,as a volunteers manager assistant in the 9th World Wushu Championships and as a transport volunteer in Water Polo China Open.Now,here I wanna share my fantastic feelings when I was working for those two games.Honestly speaking,I do think that it is not easy to be a good volunteer,cuz you see when you face the difficuties you can't cope with,when you feel tired and really couldn't hold on standing outside,when you feel wronged but nobody you can find to speak with and when you'll have to weigh gains and losses between important examinations and volunteer contributions.etc.

I think those are not only my problems but also you guys'!Anyway,do we yield to the difficulties?--Nope~ Absolutely no.Geely volunteers never yield to any difficuties,although we may feel tired,we may feel confused,but volunteer is such a glorious designation,nobody could easily got this name,and Geely volunteers are no doubt the top students in our college and no doubt will be the best volunteers during the service in the 29th Olympic Games .Well,here also,I wanna say thank you to our school -- Beijing Geely University.Thanks for giving me such a wonderful chance to take part in the Great Olympic Games and I am thankful to my dearest parents and friends,many many thanks for supporting me so I can enjoy my volunteer life and meet many great friends from other universities and from our university,such as you,you and you!

But soon,the real chanllenge will begin,the Olympic Flame has arrived in Beijng yesterday morning,everybody,are you ready,are you ready for accepting the world's test,I wish everyone of you would loudly and proudful say,"Yes,Sure,Of course,Absolutely,No doubt,we are ready!" I think you guys won't let our nation down,I Think our country must be proud of what you guys' contributions,and I can tell you from experience that happily doing what you love are absolutely worth it,it will make you a stronger,happier and more confident person.So please practise more and get ready for it,please keep smiling,because volunteers' smile is the best card of Beijing!

Training for Real Volunteer

Last week,an exciting week to me,cuz I got to know that I've been chosen to be the Good Luck Beijing Water Polo Volunteer,and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Volunteer.Terrific!!

Everybody knows about how important the work experience to the first job hunting,even unpaid volunteer experience.Anyway,I'll be the lucky guy to get it on Aug. 9th,2008.We are going to serve in the Center of Nation Olympic Sports Gymnasium(OSG),there will held Morden Pentathlon,Handball,Wushu and Water Polo events during the Olympic Games days.

In order to be a qualified and excellent volnteers,the 146 vounteers of Geely University are now taking devilish physical strength training.That is we'll have to get up before 6:00 am every mornig and next get a loud and passional morning read,then run 2000 meters(5 laps) to girls and 3000 meters to boys. Gosh~~~ How can I do it?That's absolutely unbelievable for Wendy in the past,but now I found that I actually got the potential for running.Hehe~~ yep,I did it!Amazing! Although,my body now suffers acute pains.

Well,the next week,Aug. 18th,I'll work for OSG the seond times,but this time,different job,different mood.Good luck Beijing,Good Luck Water Polo,Good luck Wendy!!!

What is La Niña ?

La Niña translates from Spanish as "the girl-child". The term "La Niña" has recently become the conventional meteorological label for the opposite of the better known El Niño.
The term La Niña refers to the extensive cooling of the central and eastern Pacific Ocean. In Australia (particularly eastern Australia), La Niña events are associated with increased probability of wetter conditions.
Changes to the atmosphere and ocean circulation during La Niña events include:
Cooler than normal ocean temperatures across the central and eastern tropical Pacific Ocean.
Increased convection or cloudiness over tropical Australia, Papua New-Guinea, and Indonesia.
Stronger than normal (easterly) trade winds across the Pacific Ocean (but not necessarily in the Australian region).
High (positive) values of the SOI (Southern Oscillation Index).
A La Niña event is sometimes called an anti-ENSO (anti-El Niño-Southern Oscillation) event.

11月09日－11月10日由奥体中心志愿者办公室临时借调到语言服务业务口任翻译工作，主要负责协助黄素杰老师核对英国、加拿大、菲律宾等32个国家运动员武术套路难度系数确认表，工作简要汇报如下。
1、通过2天努力，现已协助完成对英国、毛里求斯、哈萨克斯坦等21个国家的运动员套路难度系数表的核对工作，主要负责翻译。
11月11日－11月12日于11月11日从燕翔酒店调回奥体中心体育馆，在竞赛编排业务口作翻译，收表工作，工作情况简要汇报如下。
1、11月11日上午在奥体中心体育场1132室负责协助竞赛编排业务口的志愿者收取各国运动员的体检表，申明表及保险，但并没收齐
2、11月11日下午及11月12日一整天在东区122室继续没完成的收表工作，并为教练和运动员提供咨询服务

11月14日－11月15日一直在西区热身场地协助竞赛业务口志愿者作散手比赛检录工作，主要任务是核对运动员身份，收取护照和注册卡工作，并且为教练和运动员提供咨询服务。
1、两天内，从早上到晚上共3场比赛，一直在热身场地作检录工作
遇到的困难：
1、先前由于对奥体中心场馆不熟悉以及计算机操作不熟练，影响了工作的效率
2、于燕翔酒店服务期间，由于工作任务不够明确，语言沟通能力有待提高，致使最初的工作并不顺利
3、在燕翔酒店服务期间，由于服务对象太多，共32个国家数百张表格要确认，而工作人员有限，所以工作进度不快，最后32个国家任务并没有全部完成
4、工作时有急躁情绪，心态有待调整

工作感想：十四天的志愿服务给了我太多，太多的在学校不可能学到的东西，这些都将让我受用终身。在这里，无论是在志愿者办公室，还是在语言服务业务口，老师的关怀、教导；同学们的帮助、协作时刻感动、激励着我。虽然在工作中还存在许多问题，但我会继续加强学习、努力实践、戒骄戒躁、努力培养自己成为一名合格的社会青年。

QI XI -- The Chinese Valentine's Day

In Chinese lunar calendar, July 7th is regarded as the Chinese Valentine's Day. Traditionally it has a special meaning for girls, on which they burn joss sticks to pay their courtesy and obeisance to gods and beg for a light hand at housework and a perfect match in marriage. Since it falls in the harvest day, some melons and fruit are usually placed on the table as sacrifice. A small test is said to be able to tell if you are a capable girl. On that night, when the moon is high up in the sky, you put a needle on the water surface, if it doesn't sink, then you are already smart enough. And there is a beautiful folktale about the origin of this festival.
Long time ago, a poor boy lived with his elder brother and sister-in-law. But he was driven out of home in his early twenties. Having nothing but an old cattle, he moved into a cottage and was called Cowboy (Niulang) by people. One day, the cattle suddenly said to him, 'You are a good boy. If you want to get married, go to the brook and your wish will be realized.'
Cowboy did so, and after a short while, he saw seven pretty fairies coming and taking a bath in the water. Fascinated by the youngest and also the most beautiful one, he took away her clothes in secret. The other six fairies went away after bath, so the youngest was left alone. At that time, Cowboy appeared from behind a tree and asked her to marry him. He looked so sincere and handsome that she nodded.
They lived a poor but happy life and two years later, they had a son and a daughter. But the Jade Emperor (the dominant god in heaven in Chinese folktales) heard it and was annoyed, for the fairy turned out to be the weaving girl (Zhinv) to weave clouds and rainbows. Without her, the sky was dull, so the queen Wangmu forced her back. Cowboy took his children in two bamboo baskets and ran after her with the old cattle's help. Just then the Queen drew a line between them with her hairpin and it became the Milky Way. Pied magpies were moved by their cries and lots of them gathered and formed a bridge for the couple. And the Queen finally agreed their meeting on every July 7th.

About 40 minutes ago,I entered a friend's Blog,and then got to know about a brutal event---Jakarta riots of May 1998 .Franky,I didn't believe that's true,maybe just someone who was boring and made it up---this was my first thinking;cuz you know It is not so hard to doubt about it ---- The riots occurred in 1998,but we've never heard about that before till now,incredible!!

So later,I googled it to find the truth.Unfortunately,it seemed that The Jakarta riots of May 1998 is not dummy,not rumor. A number of Countries reported the riots except China.So sad...
You'll see below is a story I found on the internet.When I was reading that,I was so scared and tears flow down from face .... I'm really really shocked and very very scary!!!! Don't want to say anything ,just want to remind people that the world today is still full of Violence,BE STRONG AND BE CAREFUL!! We never want to see that happen again...

The story teller is a Chinese-Indonesian girl named Vivian(not real),18 years old that time.

"In our fright, we prayed and left everything in God's hands. Afterward, we left our room and went upstairs to the topmost floor, as it was impossible to go downstairs. We got to the 15th floor, and stayed there with one of our acquaintances.Not long afterward, we were surprised because there were some of the crowd coming out of the elevator right before we entered the room. We hurried into the room and locked the door tight.At that time, we heard them knocked the other rooms' doors loudly, and there were screams from women and girls. The room was filled with fear.We realized that they would come to us. So we spread throughout the room and hid in corners. Inside, we heard girls, whose age around 10-12, screaming, "Mommy... Mommy..." "Mom... Mom... it hurts.."

There were about 5 people who raped Veny, and before beginning, everyone always said, "Allahu akbar"

That time I didn't know what was happening.After about half an hour, the noise diminished, and we had some guts to go out and check. It was indescribable. A lot, some of them girls, young girls, lay on the floor."O my God, what has happened?" Seeing all of this, my little sister, Veny, screamed histerically and hugged father.Tears started coming down from my eyes. With our acquaintances, a newly-wed couple, we started going downstairs. Reaching the 10th floor, we heard a scream for help. The scream was very clear, and we decided to go down and see.But as we turned, we saw a lot of people. I saw a woman in her 20s being raped by four men. She tried to fight, but she was held tight. Realizing the danger, we ran with all our might. But unfortunately, the mob caught Veny. We tried to rescue her, but we had to give up.There were around 60 of them. They tied us--I, my father, my mother, Veny, Dony, Uncle Dodi, Aunt Vera--with ripped sheet.They led us to a room. Uncle Dodi asked what they wanted, but they didn't answer. They cast an evil and savage look. One of them grabbed Veny rudely and dragged her to a sofa.
At that time, I knew that she was in danger.I screamed loudly, and one of the mob slapped me. My father who also screamed was hit by a wooden block, and he fainted. My mother had fainted when Veny was dragged to the sofa. I could only pray and pray that the disaster would not befall us...Uncle Dodi kept trying to persuade them by offering money, but the effort was fruitless. And in the end they forcedly raped Veny. Not able to stand all of this anymore, I cried and closed my eyes.There were about 5 people who raped Veny, and before beginning, everyone always said, "Allahu akbar" (and Islamic phrase in Arabic, meaning "God is the greatest"). They were ferocious, brutal.Not long afterward, around 9 men came to the room and dragged me. I also had a chance to see them forcing and dragging Aunt Vera. But, I instantly fainted and everything was blank.

After I fainted, 7 people raped me. At that time my father still couldn't see well after being hit with the block. They raped me by rolling my body and hit it against the wall.

I became conscious at around 5 or 6 in the afternoon. My head was in pain, and then I realized that I had no clothes on my body. I cried. I was very depressed. I realized that my family were still there, and obscurely I saw my father hugged my mother and Dony. I also saw that Uncle Dodi was lying on the floor, and Aunt Vera was crying over his body.I felt so weak, and fainted again.

The next day, I was in the Pluit Hospital. My mother and father were beside me.With all the pains on my body, I asked, "Mom, why Veny, Mom?" I felt a stinging pain as I said those words. I felt my cheek swollen. My mother instantly cried and couldn't speak any words, while my father, holding his tears, managed to smile.After 4 days in treatment, my condition started getting better. With a sad look, my father then told me what happened. After I fainted, 7 people raped me. At that time my father still couldn't see well after being hit with the block. They raped me by rolling my body and hit it against the wall.Then, my father said to me, "Vin, Veny has gone..."I was confused and instantly cried loudly. "Why, Dad???" My father didn't answer. He told me to rest and went out of the room.I cried over and over again, feeling that my life is worthless anymore.A week ago, after I had been able to gone home, I was told everything that happened.When she was raped, Veny kept fighting, and so she was slapped repeatedly by her rapists.

The last time she fought, Veny spitted on one of them. Offended, the man grabbed a knive and stabbed it to Veny's stomach. Brutally, he did it repeatedly until Veny drew her last breath with blood all over her.After I heard the story, I was shocked. My father then said that Uncle Dodi had the same fate, watched by Aunt Vera who is also a victim of the rape. God... why should all of this happen? Now Aunt Vera stays in her parents' house, accompanied by her sister.

According to what the sister said, she is still shocked. Her face is blank, and often she refuses to eat.Almost every hour, my mother and I cry over this tragedy. I couldn't ever forget it. No matter what, they (the mob) are uncivilized people who have no sense of humanity."

Actually,I got two amazing ways to practise my English in this summer vacation--Joost & Second life.

Maybe not all you guys know about what they are, so here,let me tell you...

Later I EMAILed the support of Joost and submitted a ticket,get nothing usefull information.Anyway,even if Chinese Joost website is unable to solve my problem!!! Confused!!!!
Okay,then Secondlife.Well actually I've played that before in the internet room of my school,and met lots of funny and lovely international friends over Secondlife... But now,I can't even login .
Every time I runed it, always got: Login Failed,Secondlife cannot be accessed from your computer!

OH-MY-GOD~~~

What's going on? What's wrong with the internet,what's wrong with my computer?????

Anyone who can help me?? I really need them,Joost is such an amazimg,cool,awesome application;and Secondlife ,god who had played the much more wonderful game which even could make money from it before???...

Hey,bloggers,haven't talked to you guys for a long time.Could feel my longing to see you all?---strong longing!!

You see my photos ... gosh~~ I can't believe that's me,but really this is Wendychen standing on the gorgeous stage of the 4th Foreign Songs Contest of Chen Lin Foreign Languages College of Geely University.I believe that nobody could realize my feelings when I stood on there,only if you were me.Well,here as usual let me share my wonderful feelings now!

Anyone who knows about illusion or have one of you ever noticed it before?Anyway,I wanna say I touched it when I sang to all the audiences under the stage---an illusion of that I became a well-known superstar,everyone's looking at me,everyone's calling my name,all the flash lamp were sparkling to me... So ~~ it's like I temporarily forgot about who I am,what I am doing,where I am... In such a short time,I imagined the earth goes around me WoW~~ Amazing ******

But after that,the time I looked at my pictures,except my wearing so much make-up,I'd rather treat myself as an elegant princess,what do you think? LOL~~~

I'm now get in the way of my new beginning and meanwhile It could be called approaching to our very important eaxminations;I got English-Speaking Countries:A Survey,Conprehensive English,English Listening One and two,English Reading and Also the Public English Test System(PETS) ... gosh```````` It never knows if I could get passed!?!...

But ,you see,because of them,I find I actually can more enrich my flat life not as what I lived on my Winter Vacation at home.Anyway,I really had fun to be with my friends!! So many thanks to you guys ^^

That Will Happen in My Big Day Party!! LOL!!~~~~~~~~~~

Walltz---a romantic dance in my view,I didn't know you till the end of my last semaster at college,I have to say I reaaaaaaaally fell in love with you at the first sight;you're are soooooo cool and amazing !~~

Just now,I watched the very nice contest DANCE CONVENTION organised by Shanghai East Channel,a so much cool program.It just lets me think of my first "date" with Waltz.That night,we met in a school organization--Learning WALTZ,and very lucky me met a good teacher who dances very well,he teached me how to dance all WALTZ steps(pas).Here I wanna thank him!He is a good teather though maybe not a good person.

But now,dear blog and friends,I don't wanna say how lucky I am,coz I met someone great,but I just want to share my fantastic feelings when I danced WALTZ.It's like you are in the dream-a very good dream,flowers,singing birds... *****all nicety things around you,you'll see no sad,no unhappiness,no bad things in your mind,your whole body and soul are fully fill with happiness,excitment and touching...

Sorry for my foolish writing,I can't find other better words to express my exciting feelings in dancing,but that's really great,awesome,terrific!! I love dancing and love that feeling which makes me shortly forget about my bad mood,so I'll keep dancing the next semester,wish my partner did not forget about me.

Hehe~~~ actually,there're something else I wanna show off--my partner had said that I really have gift for dancing and learn it quickly.**** My friends,they all think I look beautiful when I dance in the crowd,and also my foreign teacher said that I just looked like Cinderella at that moment!! LOL ~~~~

Soooooo, dear friends,why not join me,join to a great dance party,I'm sure you'll thank me after that "date",and fall in love with dance from then on!!

Hey,guys,don't get me wrong Herbie is a car---an awesome car like you see above.Isn't it cute,oh,o~~ maybe I have to say he,because he is alive,you'll indersatand what I mean after you see the movie Herbie Fully Loaded (stared by Lindsay Lohan).That's really a great movie,if you like raceing or if you are fan of Lindsay,don't miss this movie Herbie Fully Loaded,seriously!!

Emm... from then,I've seen a few Lindsay's movies,some of them are really good,like just what I said Herbie,and another one Freaky Friday,Mean Girls,Just My Luck,The Parent Trap and Life-Size;god,trust me you never wanna miss any of them.

Oh,yeah~~ Maybe you guys will ask me how to watch them,download or see them on the net,whatever!!But I really don't think download movies is a good choice,It's tooooooooo slow for me!Takes me maybe a whole day to put just one in my computer.Find a good webpage and watch them for free.
